The Student and Professional Meet ‘n’ Greet is a great venue for students, young professionals, and experienced professionals to interact.  This exciting event will be an opportunity for students to network with professionals working in the Gulf Coast and for professionals to share their hard-won wisdom.

     A student’s first convention can be rather daunting, but it can be a much more positive occasion with the guidance of an experienced professional, more familiar with navigating the multitude of social and technical events available.  Young professionals will be able to share their experience with students on making the transition from student life to professional life, and have the opportunity to build their network with experienced professionals.

The Meet ‘n’ Greet will be held Sunday, October 10th.  Initially, all participants will meet in the Exhibit Hall Product Theater immediately following the Opening Session.  Here, professionals and students will meet with their pre-assigned groups and have a chance to get to know one another and other student-professional groups in the Theater.  At 6:00 pm the Theater will be opened.  From there, professionals are encouraged to help students navigate the exhibit hall and introduce them to colleagues.  If professionals and students run into one another later in the convention, they can stop to talk about how the experience is going.  We hope this will be a venue for students and professionals to foster professional relationships that last through the convention and beyond.
